California's state government is a divided entity with three distinct branches: the legislative, executive, and judicial. The legislative branch, made up of by the State Assembly and Senate, is responsible for passing laws. The executive branch, governed by the Governor, manages state agencies. Finally, the judicial branch, consisting of the courts
